Helping children recognise and name their feelings doesn't have to be complicated or boring.
I've found that making it fun is often the key. My primary school children love drawing these little wobbly characters, and before they know it, they're talking about feelings. (Please note these aren't monsters, these are wobblies.)
One of the most important messages I try to teach is that feelings aren't good or bad... They're simply comfortable or uncomfortable.
Every emotion has a purpose, and the more we help children understand them, the better equipped they are to manage them.
