This has to be, by far, one of my most enjoyable projects!

I've had the absolute pleasure of working with NCFE to write their new online course, 'Trauma-informed practice in action: Supporting children and young people'.

Who is NCFE?

NCFE is an educational charity and a leader in vocational and technical learning, designing, developing and awarding qualifications from Entry Level through to Level 6.

And what made this project even more special?

Getting to work alongside my 12-year-old son, Charlie, who took on the role of a voice actor (his words, not mine!) for one of the case studies.

Having worked directly with children and young people for over 15 years, I've seen first-hand how their experiences can influence the way they think, feel, behave and connect with others.

And that's why empowering adults with the knowledge and confidence to recognise and respond to trauma is so important.

Being trauma-informed isn't about becoming a therapist. It's about looking beyond behaviour, being curious rather than judgemental, and creating environments where children feel safe, heard and understood. Because behind every behaviour is a child with a story, and sometimes that story is one we know very little about.

A HUGE thank you to NCFE for inviting me to be part of this project. I've absolutely LOVED it!
