It was a pleasure visiting another secondary school. This time, I visited Haileybury Turnford School in Cheshunt to work with their Year 7 students on building their resilience and fostering a positive mindset, as well as exploring the concept of a glitch versus a catastrophe.
The first part of my workshop focused on understanding our thought processes and what stress actually is, including how it can be beneficial, and its connection to both physical and mental health. We then moved on to discuss how to be proactive when we are feeling stressed and overwhelmed, which is the goal of the second part of the workshop. The final part of this fun workshop allowed the students to learn about the power of catastrophizing and how to put things into perspective.
